Beatport Guide and Webinar
Just recently, we released our Beatport guide so for everybody who hasn't heard about Beatport, Beatport is a digital streaming and download platform for electronic music so anything between EDM, Techno, House music. If you are a music producer who makes music in those genres, Beatport is definitely a platform you want to know about.
And they are the market leader in the electronic music sector. They are just by far the biggest platform out there. That's right, Beatport holds the largest repertoire of downloadable dance music and is the go-to marketplace for DJs and musicians around the world. With over 36 million unique users, 465 000 DJs customers, 11 million tracks and over 75 000 label partnerships, it's easy to see why they're the leading electronic music platform. We explain what Beatport is for everybody who doesn't know all the details about the story yet and we also talk about how you get your music onto the platform.
Getting your music on Beatport is super super simple what you need to do is you have to work with a music distributor. On Beatport, you can only release music if you have a record label but some of us maybe just start out as musicians and they don't have a record label in that case you can also work with a distribution company such as iMusician and we will provide you with a label name. All you will have to do is create an account with us and upload your .WAV files, your artwork, and obviously enter all your metadata such as artist name, contributors, and any copyright information. We also talk about Beatport’s latest products such as Beatport Hype and Beatport Link.
Beatport Hype is Beatport’s latest music discovery platform that allows artists to be discovered from all around the world and is something to keep your eye on in terms of being able to get the most out of the platform.
Beatport Link is Beatport's Latest streaming service that is revolutionary when it comes to the DJ community and being able to stream music whether in your house or in the club. Essentially, Beatport Link allows DJs to have access to Beatport’s entire library wherever they are. We also cover the importance of choosing an artist's name on Beatport.
We dive into how to personalize your artist profile with Steve Mill who's a member of the Beatport team, and then finally we go over the importance of artists rights and publishing within the Beatport platform.
And then the last topic we actually cover in the Beatport guide is how to pitch your music to the Beatport editorial team. What Beatport does is they highlight artists and new releases on their website on our platform and you can pitch your music and new releases to also be featured on there. So, definitely go to our website and check out the full Beatport guide if you want to learn more about the platform and especially if you are an electronic musician. We're going to make sure to link to the Beatport guide in the description below.
On top of the Beatport guide, we had the honor to host a webinar about Beatport in December. We had people attending from all over the world from Russia from all over Europe from the United States and Nick actually had the honor to host that webinar together with Steve Mill from Beatport. Yeah, super excited to see an international community turn out for the webinar, obviously very excited to have Steve join us. We covered an array of topics ranging from how to distribute your music to Beatport, ‘kind of gave you an overview of what Beatport is and how to get the most out of the platform. We went in depth on Beatport's new products Beatport Hype and Beatport Links, some really interesting stuff coming from Beatport there. And Steve walked you through how to personalize your artist profile as well as how to get the most out of publishing and artist rights within the Beatport platform. So, if you haven't had the chance to check out the video yet we already uploaded it to our YouTube channel so definitely make sure you check it out we're going to link it up here for you guys.
Then, we obviously want to introduce you to one of our iMusician community members, an artist who uses imusician to distribute their music and that is PMX Soundz. PMX Soundz started his career in 1999 and back then he had a Playstation one, so the first time he actually produced a song was on the Playstation game music 2000. The future. He actually produced a full album on that game and it literally just gave you the options to use a few simple samples to put together a song from a library so if that's how you want to start making music that's an amazing gateway drug. Unfortunately, that first album was never released. Maybe one day we're gonna get to hear it. I would love to. He's now looking back at a career of 15 years and he's been releasing a couple of songs this year already. I really recommend you check those songs out. He's originally from France but now he lives in Berlin and he's played at festivals and concerts all around France and Germany and across europe he's been supported by some amazing artists from across the electronic music scene like Green Velvet, Claude Von Stroke and Gene Farris and has had the opportunity to perform at festivals around the world such as Awakenings Festival, BPM Festival, Boiler Room and Rainbow Serpent. So, we definitely recommend you check out PMX Soundz music and obviously we added a link to his iMusician Artist Hub profile in the description below. The artist's profile will give you the chance to listen to his music on whichever platform you prefer but obviously there's also a link to Beatport on there. If you're an iMusician artist and you'd like to be featured as an artist of the month or release of the week all you have to do is fill out a quick form via our blog and you'll be ready to go.
