Universal Music Group is expanding its hospitality business to London with the opening of its second hotel, the UMusic Hotel Denmark Street, in the heart of the city’s music scene.
A New UMusic Hotel Is Coming to London
Did you know that Universal Music Group owns and runs a hotel in Madrid? If this comes as a surprise, you might also be surprised to learn that the group is planning to establish its second hotel this year, this time in London.
The two hotels are part of its hospitality branch, UMusic Hospitality & Lifestyle (UMHL). The UMusic Hotel Denmark Street, as it will be called, will open its doors to visitors in the fourth quarter of 2026 in partnership with Outernet London, a public entertainment space focused on the arts, music and culture.
The hotel will be located in London’s West End, an area known for attracting people looking to experience entertainment. In an official press release, the company states that its partnership with UMHL “will transform how visitors can experience music across London’s Denmark Street, the historic heart of the capital’s music and songwriter community. Together they will combine live performances, nightlife, hospitality, and immersive entertainment within one connected cultural district. Welcoming more than 120 million visitors annually, Outernet has become one of the world’s leading destinations for music, entertainment, and immersive exhibitions.”
The hotel is opening in what seems like the exact right location, with music venues such as The Lower Third and other well-known spots on and around Denmark Street readily available for a visit. UMHL intends to offer visitors a “music-driven hospitality experience” and give them “a unique opportunity to experience a broad range of music and culture across the wider district.”
But that’s not all the group is planning to do. According to the press release, it also aims to establish itself across the wider district with other “music focused experiences,” such as food and beverage concepts and lounge spaces.
Moreover, UMHL will lead programming and operations for Outernet’s live music venue, The Lower Third, on Denmark Street, making use of UMG’s network of artists and labels. It will also “help activate Outernet’s digital platforms with artist-led programming and cultural moments.”
Jordi Solé, President of UMusic Hospitality & Lifestyle, says: “Denmark Street holds a special place in music history. For decades, it has been a place where artists found their voice, creativity flourished, and music culture took shape. We are incredibly proud to be part of its next chapter. Together with Outernet, we have the opportunity to honor that legacy by creating hospitality and cultural experiences that inspire discovery, support emerging artists, and ensure this remarkable destination continues to shape the future of music for generations to come.”
What Can We Expect From the New UMusic Hotel?
will feature, what kind of experiences guests will be able to enjoy, and what else it will have to offer. But looking at UMG’s five-star hotel in Madrid could give us an idea of what we might see in London.
The Madrid hotel features a variety of music events, art exhibitions throughout the hotel, a piano bar, vinyl records for rent, and rooms for artists with things like Marshall speakers and an integrated Bluetooth sound system. Whether the UMusic Hotel Denmark Street will offer the same or similar features remains to be seen. These are only examples of what UMG already offers in Madrid, and the London hotel could have a completely different concept, considering the location.
Either way, it will be interesting to see what the group comes up with for its new London location.
