Claudia Masika is a multitalented Kenyan artist who brings the African sun into our hearts. Claudia's grandmother recognized her talent from an early age and taught her the traditional songs of the Luo tribe.
In her teenage years, she started mixing traditional songs with modern sounds and created an exciting blend of Afro-Fusion influences. After her first hits charted in Kenya, she decided to continue her career in Europe. She now lives in Switzerland and has established herself as a musician and artist. Furthermore, she created her own fashion label and a social project “Hope for Girls Foundation (HOFOGI)” in Kenya.
With her charisma, lots of positive energy, great songs, and a groovy band, Claudia gets the crowd dancing and the people smiling.
Can you introduce yourself to our community?
My name is Claudia Masika. I’m a singer, songwriter, mother, artist, fashion designer/ entrepreneur and a really lovely person. I originally come from Kenya, but I live in Switzerland.
What can you tell us about your new single release 'Jifondishe'?
In Swahili Jifundishe means teach yourself and for sure in life, every day is a learning day. My inspiration comes from the lessons I learn from living with people day by day trying to be aware of my actions. The kindness you give me today will go a long way.
What is your experience with Spotify and the other streaming and download platforms?
I mostly love to use Spotify for my music streaming because I can easily find all my albums and share them with my friends.
Do you use social media to promote your releases?
Yes, I do use Social media to promote my music and business.
Which social media platform do you use the most for this or which suits you best?
So far I use Instagram and Facebook to connect with my audience.
How often and when do you usually post on your social media?
In the last months I have been posting a little less but at least every two weeks I say hi to my fans to connect with them.
How often do you interact with your audience or engage in community management?
I engage myself with a lot of projects in the community in Switzerland for example, I'm cooking every Wednesday to support my project “Hope For Girls” in Kenya. Through my cooking, I also engage a lot of my fans who love spending time with me. I’m giving afro groove singing workshops in different villages. That’s also something I love doing with the community, and for that, I'm also using my social media channels.
What are your plans for 2022?
My New album release is on top of the list, as well as going back on Tour with my band to rock the stage. There are a lot of gigs coming up. You will find all pieces of information on my homepage.
