Spotify Moves into Fitness with Peloton Class Integration

From podcasts to video and audiobooks, Spotify has been steadily expanding beyond music. Now, it’s entering fitness through a new partnership with Peloton, bringing on-demand classes to the platform.

Spotify-Peloton Partnership: Spotify Wants to Be Your Fitness App Now

Time on Spotify should feel meaningful and intentional, not something that slips away in a blur of mindless scrolling,” Spotify says in its official announcement about its Peloton collaboration. According to the streaming platform, its expansion into the fitness and wellness space should move beyond passive listening, leaving users feeling “more energized, in control, and empowered.”

The Peloton partnership includes more than 1,400 ad-free, on-demand classes across eight categories: Strength, Pilates, Barre, Yoga, Stretching, Meditation, Floor Cardio, and Outdoor Running/Walking. It also features dozens of curated playlists and content from established wellness influencers, such as Kassandra Reinhardt (Yoga with Kassandra), Chloe Ting (Chloe Ting Home Workouts), and Raven Ross (Pilates Body by Raven).

The content is available exclusively to Spotify Premium subscribers as part of their subscriptions through the platform’s new designated Fitness category, alongside its existing audio and video ecosystem.

Notably, the classes focus on outdoor and floor-based workouts that do not require Peloton’s hardware, such as bikes or treadmills, making training with the app more broadly accessible. New classes will be added to the library on a recurring basis. The functionality is currently being launched in most markets where Spotify is present. So far, classes are offered in English, with select options in Spanish and German.

For Spotify, the move extends its reach into an area where music may not be central but still plays a major role. This opens a path to subscriber growth and deeper engagement, giving users a reason to stay within the app for workouts instead of turning to dedicated fitness platforms. The global health and fitness industry is experiencing a strong boom, becoming an essential part of public health and the global economy, with its market value reaching $257 billion in 2025. This could herald success for Spotify’s new ventures.

For nearly two decades, Spotify has been the soundtrack to the world’s workouts. But listening was only the beginning. Today, we are expanding Spotify to become a true daily wellness companion,” said in a statement Roman Wasenmüller, VP, Global Head of Podcasts at Spotify.

In the meantime, for Peloton, the move signals an effort to create new revenue streams, increase brand exposure in international markets, and perhaps become a more accessible platform for fitness lovers around the world.

We’ve always believed that the best workout is the one you actually do, which is why accessing world-class fitness content should be as easy as tuning into your favorite Spotify playlist. With this partnership, we are instantly activating a global footprint that makes the magic of Peloton accessible to Spotify Premium subscribers anywhere,” said Dion Camp Sanders, Peloton’s Chief Commercial Officer.
