How Can I Pitch My Track To Spotify ?
Pitching your songs to curated Spotify playlists is a great way to increase your music's visibility and reach more listeners. Every artist releasing music on Spotify can pitch their tracks to editorial playlists, and you should too!
Enable Spotify Pitching When Ordering
- When you create your order, enable Spotify pitching.
- When you enable Spotify pitching, the release date calendar will automatically adjust to allow enough time for processing and pitching. Your release will appear in Spotify for Artists a few days after the delivery.
Log into Spotify for Artists and Locate Your Track
Once your release is delivered, it will appear after a few days in the Upcoming section of your Spotify for Artists interface (learn how to get access to Spotify for Artists). From there, go to the Music tab, find your track under Upcoming and click to begin the pitching process.
Submit Your Pitch
- Choose one song per release. For EPs or albums, pick the most impactful track.
- Describe your track. Provide genre, mood, style, and any cultural or promotional context.
- Be accurate and honest! This helps Spotify editors understand your track and audience.
By pitching your music strategically, you can maximize your chances of being featured on Spotify’s editorial playlists and reaching a wider audience. For more information on the pitching process, make sure to check out their dedicated article.
Keep This In Mind
- Submitting your track doesn’t guarantee playlist placement, but it’s always worth trying!
- Pitching is free; Spotify editors are not influenced by external parties.
- Only one track can be pitched per release (album or EP).
- Already-released songs cannot be pitched.
- Only main artists can pitch; featuring artists cannot.
- Releases with four or more main artists are classified as compilations and cannot be pitched.
- Pitching is only available on the desktop version of Spotify for Artists, not on the mobile app.
- How long a song stays on a playlist depends on listener engagement.
- Once added to a playlist, you cannot request removal (unless you suspect it’s a fraudulent playlist, then in that case report it immediately through this form!).
