I'm Changing Distributors And I Need To Do A Label Switch. What's The Procedure?
As your label name is registered with Beatport & Traxsource via your distributor, whenever you're changing from one to another it will be necessary to do a "Label Switch". Here's how the process works, depending on whether you're switching from another distributor to iMusician or vice versa:
Switching From Another Distributor to iMusician:
If you're moving your label from a different distributor to iMusician, the following steps will apply:
- Reach out to our support team and share the link(s) to your label pages on Beatport and Traxsource.
- We will initiate a request to your previous distributor through Beatport and/or Traxsource to complete the label switch.
To ensure a smooth and quick transition, it's helpful if you contact your previous distributor in advance. Let them know that they will receive the request from us and that they should approve the transfer as soon as possible. We cannot begin distributing music on your label page until the request is approved by your previous distributor. Once the request is accepted, we can proceed with the distribution ✅
Switching From iMusician to Another Distributor:
If you're switching your label from iMusician to another distributor, the process works similarly but in reverse:
- Your new distributor will need to make a request to us via Beatport and Traxsource to transfer your label.
- Once we receive the request, we will approve the transfer and complete the label switch, enabling your new distributor to start distributing music on your label page.
💡Additional Tips:
- Make sure that you have your label page links at hand when submitting your request.
- Communication with both your old and new distributors is key to speeding up the process and avoiding delays if you’re on a tight schedule!
