I'm Switching From Another Distributor to iMusician. What's the Procedure?

We’d love to have you join our community and help you distribute your music with iMusician! Switching distributors is easy if you follow these steps:


What Do I Need to Do to Transition to iMusician?

  1. Take Down Your Music from the Previous Distributor
  • Streaming platforms and digital stores do not allow multiple distributors to manage the same release at the same time.
  • Ensure your previous distributor removes your music from all shops and platforms. We can only re-distribute your music once it is no longer available online.
  • Keep a record of your ISRCs and barcodes, that’ll be important for when you redistribute your tracks!
  1. Deactivate Third-Party Monetization
  • If your previous distributor enabled services like YouTube Content ID, make sure these features are deactivated to avoid conflicts during the transition.
  1. Special Steps for Beatport and Traxsource Releases
  • If your music has been distributed to Beatport or Traxsource, we’ll need to request a label switch from your previous distributor to transfer your label to iMusician. 

What Happens Next?

Once your music has been successfully taken down and any additional monetization services have been deactivated, you can upload your releases to iMusician and start distributing them again! At that stage, make sure to include your original ISRCs and barcodes, that way your previous  streams and playlist additions will not be lost.
