I'm Switching From Another Distributor to iMusician. What's the Procedure?

Moving your catalog to iMusician is a straightforward process. By following these steps, you can switch distributors without losing your stream counts or playlist placements.

1. Gather Your Metadata

Before you start, collect the following for every release you are moving:

Original ISRC codes and Barcodes (EAN/UPC).
Original audio files (WAV) and cover art.
Exact titles and artist names used originally. If the metadata doesn't match exactly, streaming platforms won't be able to link your play counts!

2. Re-create the Release on iMusician

Upload your music to your iMusician library. During the upload process, ensure you input your existing ISRCs and Barcodes in the designated fields.

3. The "Overlap" Period

Once your release is delivered by iMusician and appears as "Live" on streaming platforms, wait at least 5 days before asking your old distributor to take the music down. This overlap allows the platforms to "map" the new version to the old one, keeping your playlists intact.

4. Special Steps for Beatport & Traxsource

If you are moving a label to Beatport or Traxsource:

We must request a Label Switch from your previous distributor.
Please contact our support team once you've signed up so we can coordinate this move for you.

5. Confirm the Takedown

Once your old distributor confirms the takedown and any monetization services (like YouTube Content ID) are deactivated, your transition is complete!
