What is a theme channel?

When we distribute your music on YouTube, it is made available both on YouTube Music and on YouTube's video platform. The resources we distribute are called art tracks. Artistic tracks are automatically linked to channels generated by YouTube, called thematic channels:

• Initially, your release will be linked to a Release - Topic channel created specifically for that release.
• Once your Art Tracks have gained enough tracks, YouTube will create an Artist - Topic channel, which groups together all the releases attributed to your artist name. If your music ends up on another artist's channel by mistake, don't worry - we can fix that!

How can I better control the content of my thematic channel?

Once a Topic Artist Channel has been created for you, you can request an Official Artist Channel (OAC). This channel merges your personal YouTube channel with your Artist - Topic channel, bringing all your content together in one place. An official artist channel allows you to :

• Present your artistic tracks and personal uploads together.
• Have more control over your branding and channel presence.
• Provide a centralized platform for your fans.

Can I customize a theme channel?

Unfortunately, thematic channels can't be customized, and you can't log in to them as you would to a personal channel. The only way to manage the content hosted on these channels is to request an official artist channel. Thematic YouTube channels are interesting for presenting your distributed music, but they are limited in terms of personalization and access.

What's the difference between a thematic channel and a personal channel?

• Thematic channels:
  • These are automatically generated by YouTube.
  • They host artistic tracks distributed via an aggregator.
  • They cannot be personalized or accessed like a personal channel.
• Personal channels:
  • These are created and managed by you.
  • This is where you can upload your own content, such as music videos, lyric videos and behind-the-scenes content.
  • They're fully customizable and give you greater control over your brand.
