A New Chapter for iMusician: Why We're Doubling Down on Artist Freedom

Over a decade ago, iMusician was born out of a simple belief: that independent artists and labels deserve easy access to professional tools without sacrificing control, clarity, or their earnings. We’ve seen the music industry evolve, bringing new opportunities but also challenges for artists: from the endless pursuit for visibility to navigating the confusing maze of contracts and payouts.

Today, I'm excited to announce a set of updates to our services that bring us closer to the vision that inspired our journey. With these changes, we’re strengthening our dedication to supporting you, the artists and labels.

We’ve all heard of the issues with "fine print" - distributors hiding behind vague terms & conditions, restrictive lock-ins, automated support, and "subscription traps" that make it easy to sign up, but difficult to leave. These obstacles frustrate artists, stifle creativity, and can slow down careers.

At iMusician, our core philosophy is rooted in a "Fair-First” approach. We provide the global reach of a major label with the ethics of an indie. We are one of the few to truly offer forever online music distribution and the autonomy to customize your journey without restrictive hurdles. To stay true to our mission, we constantly challenge ourselves to make sure we are putting your interests first.

Today, we're taking a significant step towards making our "Fair-First" promise a reality. We’ve redesigned our subscription plans around two key improvements:

1. Unlimited Releases for Everyone: We believe creativity should never be capped. That’s why from now on, all of our plans include unlimited distribution. Release as much music as you want, whenever you want, without worrying about escalating costs or hitting artificial limits.

2. Modular, Cost-Effective Scaling: For labels and collectives, it does not make sense to pay for 10 artists if they only need to manage three. Our new approach allows you to add individual artists to your plan, one by one, at a lower cost than full tier upgrades. Pay only for what you truly need, nothing more.
