Can I Distribute The Same Content On All The Shops?

Getting the same content accepted by all streaming services can be challenging since each shop has its own set of guidelines and requirements. We’ve outlined the key points to consider when you’re distributing your music to various shops simultaneously 👇

Specific Guidelines

When releasing music, it's crucial to be aware of platform-specific guidelines. Here are some notable examples:

  • Juno: They only accept releases with English metadata. If your music or album titles are in another language, Juno might not accept it.
  • Meta (Facebook and Instagram): They might reject releases that contain cover versions, ambient sounds and/or public domain material.
  • Amazon Music: They do not accept soundalike covers. Do not try to distribute covers to Amazon if you want to comply with their policies.

If your music doesn’t meet a platform’s guidelines, it may be rejected.

Specific Regions

Some platforms cater to specific audiences and geographical regions. Here are a couple of examples:

  • Anghami: This platform is particularly focused on content that appeals to the North African market.
  • AWA: They specialize in content that’s appealing to the Japanese market.

If your music doesn’t align with the platform’s target audience, it might be rejected.

Specific Genres

Certain shops are dedicated to specific genres. For example:

  • Beatport & Traxsource: These platforms are exclusive to electronic music. Traxsource is even more specific and focuses solely on House, Deep-House and Tech-House.
  • Apple Classical, IDAGIO, Vialma: These platforms focus solely on classical music.

If your music doesn’t fit the platform’s targeted genre, it might be rejected.
