My Trends And My Sales Don't Match. Why?
If you see a difference between your trends and your actual sales, don’t worry! Here's a breakdown of why this may happen:
What Are Trends?
Trends show you the streams your music is generating in almost real-time. In the Analytics section of your dashboard, you will find a compilation of your trends for the following platforms:
- Spotify
- Apple Music
- Deezer
- Amazon
- Pandora
- 24/7 MusicShop / TDC Music
We receive these trends data with a delay of about 5 days after the “real-time” streams. You can also see most shop-specific trends in their respective artist dashboards (Spotify for Artists, Deezer for Creators, Apple Music for Artists, etc.).
These numbers give you an idea of how your music is performing, but keep in mind that they are not verified yet so they may differ from your actual sales!
What Are Sales?
Sales are the final numbers that were approved by the shops. These figures are included in your sales data and are reflected on your dashboard in the Revenue section. They represent the actual revenue you've earned during a specific period.
If you notice a discrepancy between your trends and your sales, it means the platforms have invalidated some of the streams shown in your trends. For example, if any stream-boosting activities took place, your trends might show a high number of streams. However, during their checks, the shops may detect fraudulent streams and adjust those numbers, resulting in a lower final sales figure.
