Why iMusician?

What is Traxsource?

Traxsource is a digital music store and platform focused on electronic music. Founded in 2004 by a team of passionate DJs and producers, it allows artists to sell and promote their releases. It is equally popular among music enthusiasts, who use it to discover new tracks across a wide range of dance music genres.

Over the past two decades, Traxsource has earned a strong reputation that is rooted in its history, private ownership, commitment to music curation, its efforts to build relationships with labels, distributors, and artists, as well as its dedication to support both established and emerging talent. It is also known as a site for underground dance music, where non-mainstream artists get the chance to stand out, often due to strong relationships with indie labels, tastemakers, and genre pioneers.

While house music remains its core focus, the platform also features a wide variety of genres, including techno, garage, tech house, minimal, deep tech, afro house, and more. Unlike most streaming platforms, Traxsource offers music as downloadable files, making it a go-to destination for DJs looking for high-quality, set-ready tracks.

Traxsource also curates a wide range of real-time and genre-specific charts, making it easier for niche tracks and underground artists to gain visibility without needing a huge following.

What Are the Benefits of Traxsource For Artists And Labels?

Traxsource offers a unique set of benefits that are rooted in its origins. Created by DJs and producers, the platform is designed to address the needs and desires of electronic music artists, independent labels, and fans alike.

For artists and labels, one of the biggest advantages of Traxsource is its dedicated community of DJs and electronic music enthusiasts. By getting their music on the platform, they increase their chance of reaching listeners and industry professionals who are genuinely interested in their style.

Traxsource is also well-known for fostering artist–DJ relationships by providing a platform where DJs can discover new music, while artists can receive feedback and support from professionals within the scene. This creates an ecosystem that encourages organic growth, an exchange of knowledge, and a shared dedication to discovering the finest underground tracks.

Another benefit of Traxsource is its range of promotional tools, including featured banners, curated playlists, chart placements, magazine spotlights, and email newsletters aimed at DJs and electronic music enthusiasts. For instance, its offer to promote exclusive releases can help artists and labels gain more visibility on the platform and increase their sales.

And finally, let’s look at the money. Since Traxsource is primarily a digital download store, artists and labels often earn more per sale than they would from typical streaming payouts, especially when DJs purchase tracks for their sets.

All in all, if you’re an artist or label working in electronic music, you have a lot to gain from making your releases available on Traxsource. So why not get started today?

Frequently Asked Questions

No. As an independent artist or label, you cannot upload music to Traxsource on your own.

There are tangible reasons why most platforms ask artists to upload their music through a distributor.

Put simply, music distributors act as intermediaries between artists and streaming platforms. They handle the technical, legal, and administrative aspects of getting your music online to make sure your tracks meet platform requirements and comply with copyright and metadata standards.

Moreover, royalties can only be collected from music that has been distributed through an official distributor, such as iMusician. Once your music is confirmed to be eligible for monetization, it's registered properly and tracked for royalty reporting. Your payouts are then sent from the platforms to us, and from us to you.

If you're new to iMusician and require guidance on selecting a plan or starting with us, simply reach out to us via our Community. Our moderators and members are here to address your questions quickly. Learn more about how to get in touch.

No. With iMusician, you won't encounter any hidden fees down the line. You keep 100% of your earnings from over 200 streaming and download shops, and 80% from social media platforms like YouTube and Instagram. Since we’re Swiss, we also don’t keep any withholding taxes.
