What's a Catalogue Number?
A catalogue number is an identification number used generally by labels to identify a specific release in a discography. If you have catalogue numbers for your releases, you can add this information when you’re creating a release 👍
Physical and Digital Formats
Recordings usually have unique catalogue numbers for each format (e.g., CDs, vinyl, digital). For example, a vinyl version might have ABC-001-LP, while the digital release could be ABC-001-DIG.
Beatport
On Beatport, each release must have a unique catalogue number. This means that if another label is already using a code similar to yours, you won’t be able to distribute your track to Beatport unless you change it. Make sure that the catalogue numbers you choose are not already used by other labels before submitting the release to us.
Add your Catalogue Number
To add your catalogue number to your release, open your order and go to the 2nd step Release > Optional > Additional release details > Catalogue No. If you don’t have catalogue numbers or you don’t want to add this information, don’t worry, this is not a mandatory field!
