What's a Publisher?
Music publishers usually play several roles:
- They ensure that rights are correctly registered and enforced, preventing unauthorized use of musical compositions.
- They negotiate licensing agreements that allow artists to perform or record a songwriter's composition legally.
- They collect royalties on behalf of songwriters from various sources (e.g. PROs).
- They promote songs to increase visibility by pitching them to other artists, films, and TV producers for sync placements.
How to Include This in Your Music Distribution
If you want to distribute some cover songs with us, you must take the time to look for the original rights owners on databases like GEMA, SACEM, and other PROs before submitting your order. If your order is not compliant with our copyright policies, unfortunately we won't be able to approve it, so it's really important that you check this carefully!
