JioSaavn is a music streaming service that was founded in 2006 in India. Initially, it started out under the name BODVOD Network and distributed Bollywood music to digital stores in North America.
The company relaunched in 2010 as Saavn.com, officially launching its music streaming service. It then merged with JioMusic, the streaming platform of telecom giant Reliance Jio, in 2018. In the same year its name was changed to JioSaavn as part of the rebranding process.
Today, JioSaavn belongs to the most popular music services in South Asia, especially in India, while also attracting listeners from the global South Asian diaspora and beyond. The platform stands out for its strong focus on regional languages, offering music in Hindi, Punjabi, Bengali, Bhojpuri, Gujarati, Malayalam, Rajasthani, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, and more.
Its catalogue spans a wide range of genres, from pop, rock, and classical to Bollywood soundtracks, devotional music, and indie music. These are complemented by countless curated playlists tailored to different moods, occasions, and listening styles.
In addition to music, JioSaavn features podcasts, radio shows, and exclusive original programming. The content can be accessed through a free ad-supported tier or through a premium subscription model (JioSaavn Pro), which includes offline downloads, ad-free listening, and higher audio quality.
