How do I distribute a classical music release ?
iMusician delivers your classical music to all platforms, including Apple Music, meeting even the toughest requirements. While most distributors avoid the complexities, we ensure your music reaches your fans everywhere. Available with all AMPLIFY subscription plans and with the Rockstar pay-per-release option.
For distribution, classical releases must adhere to specific title formatting. However, classical pieces that are not in the public domain, like contemporary classical works, are exempt from this format. Consult IMSLP for accurate composer, work, and movement names.

All titles must be consistently formatted as follows:
- Album titles: Composer: Name of Work in Key, Catalog Number
E.g.: Ludwig van Beethoven: Symphony No 7 in A major, Op 92.
Note: Album titles like "Best Piano Sonatas" may be used as well
- Work’s title: Name of Work in Key, Catalog Number
E.g.: Symphony No 7 in A major, Op 92.
- Track title: Movement Number, Movement Title
E.g.: II. Allegretto
Note that if the composer died more than 70 years ago their body of work is now part of public domain, therefore available in IMSLP. If the composer is still alive or died within 70 years ago, the information regarding their music will most likely be available on their website, and all releases made with their music would need to be selected as a cover version.
Artists details:
- Performers
Please list all the major soloists, conductors, performers and ensembles as main artists. And don't forget to add performer's complete names with their corresponding instrument under Performers field in each track. Do not use artist names or pseudonyms unless the name has a corresponding IPI.
- Composers + Lyricist
Please add composers and lyricist details under Contributors Details with their full names with no abbreviations. Do not use artist names or pseudonyms unless the name has a corresponding IPI.
- Publishers
The publishers are only needed for music that is not in the public-domain. Please consult GEMA to find the rightful publishers of the music. Do not confuse the music score publisher with the music publisher, as one is for the musical text and the other is for the music rights holders.
