Can I Distribute All Genres of Music?
Here are some exceptions and guidelines to keep in mind when choosing your music's genre:
Content Restrictions
We do not distribute the following types of content:
- Audiobooks
- Podcasts
- Meditation music
- Field recordings
- DJ Mixes
These categories fall outside the scope of our services and will not be accepted.
Classical Music Distribution Requirements
If you’re looking to distribute classical music, you’ll need a Rockstar, AMPLIFY, AMPLIFY+ or AMPLIFY Pro plan. Classical releases require very detailed metadata to meet platform standards and following strict formatting rules is necessary to ensure a successful distribution.
Platform-Specific Policies
Some platforms are genre-specific and may reject releases that don’t match their stylistic policies. For example, certain platforms may specialize in electronic or hip-hop music, so releases outside those genres might not be accepted by these specific shops.
⚠️ Although the store list can be determined by you, the specific content policies of each store is beyond our control. Therefore, we cannot guarantee that your release will be available in all the stores you selected.
Your Preferred Genre Is Not Listed
If the genre you want doesn’t appear in our list, don’t worry! Most platforms do not display highly specific genres anyways. Simply select the closest genre option available. Keep in mind that the more general your genre is, the more visible it may be to new listeners across different platforms, so it’s a good thing to keep it broad 👍
