Can I Distribute All Genres of Music?
We support a wide variety of genres for distribution, but there are a few exceptions and guidelines to keep in mind 👇
Content Restrictions
While most music genres are accepted, we do not distribute the following types of content:
- Audiobooks
- Podcasts
- Meditation music
- Field recordings
These categories fall outside the scope of our distribution services and will not be accepted.
Classical Music Distribution Requirements
If you’re looking to distribute classical music, you’ll need an AMPLIFY, AMPLIFY+ or AMPLIFY Pro subscription. Classical music releases require detailed metadata to meet platform standards, so following specific formatting rules is necessary to ensure successful distribution.
Platform-Specific Policies
Some platforms are genre-specific and may reject releases that don’t match their stylistic policies. For example, certain platforms may specialize in electronic or hip-hop music, so releases outside those genres might not be accepted by these specific shops.
Selecting a Genre That’s Not Listed
If the specific genre you want doesn’t appear in our list, don’t worry! Most platforms do not display highly specific genres anyways. Simply select the closest genre option available. Keep in mind that the more general your genre is, the more visible it may be to new listeners across different platforms, so it’s a good thing to keep it broad 👍
