What Kind of Artwork Should I Use?
Artworks are crucial when you distribute music! They act as a visual representation of your music and at the same time, they serve as part of your artistic and visual brand. In order to have your artwork approved by the shops, there are a few requirements 👇
Image File Specifications
- The image file must be in square format with a size of minimum 3000 x 3000 pixels
- We can only accept JPEG files
- We cannot accept pixelated or blurry images
Content Restrictions
- Avoid misleading or generic artwork (e.g., featuring or referencing an artist not involved in the album).
- Only include relevant details such as the artist’s name and the exact song or album title as officially released.
- Do not include any extra information like social media handles, email addresses, websites, logos, or references to music stores.
- Refrain from mentioning pricing (e.g., "Discounted Price," "On Sale," or "For Promotional Use").
- Do not include any branding or advertisements.
- Do not include any years or dates.
- Do not include barcodes or QR codes.
- No explicit images or links to adult websites.
- Avoid references to physical or digital distribution (e.g., vinyl, CD).
- Do not display the parental advisory logo unless the content is explicit.
- We recommend adding the artist name and the release title on your artwork especially if you use a portrait picture or generic landscape pictures.
Important Copyright Considerations
Any unauthorized use of brands, celebrities, or copyrighted content will not be accepted. Always obtain permission for copyrighted images and carefully check the terms in your licensing agreements before using copyright material in your artwork!
