What Kind of Artwork Should I Use?
In order to have your artwork approved by the different stores, there are a few requirements to keep in mind:
File Specifications
- The image file must be in square format with a size of minimum 3000 x 3000 pixels
- We can only accept JPEG files
- We cannot accept low-quality, pixelated or blurry images
Content Restrictions
- Do not use misleading or generic artworks (e.g., featuring or referencing an artist that is not involved).
- Do not include any extra information like social media handles, email addresses, websites, logos, or references to music stores.
- Do not mention pricing (e.g., "Discounted Price," "On Sale," or "For Promotional Use").
- Do not include any branding or advertisements.
- Do not include any years or dates.
- Do not include barcodes or QR codes.
- Do not include explicit images or links to adult websites.
- Do not include references to physical releases (e.g., vinyl, CD).
- Do not display the parental advisory logo unless the content is marked as explicit in the metadata.
Metadata Consistency
Any written information shown on the artwork must match what's in the release's metadata. The best recommended practice is to only include the artists names and release title, exactly as they appear in the metadata (i.e correct spelling and role attribution). This is especially relevant if your artwork is a "generic" portrait picture or landscape picture.
Important Copyright Considerations
Using brands, celebrities, trademarks or any kind of unauthorized content will not be accepted without a valid license. Make sure to acquire the necessary authorization to use copyrighted images and carefully check the terms in your licensing agreements before submitting your order!
