How Do I Create a Release?
If you want to get your music out there without any hassle, we've got you covered! Our platform makes releasing your music super easy. Just follow this simple guide and you'll be sharing your tracks with the world in no time!
What do I need?
To release some music with us, you’re going to need:
- Some audio files: All tracks must be in WAV format (16-24 bit, 44.1-96 kHz).
- An artwork: The image must be at least 3000x3000 pixels, in JPEG and with a good quality (not blurry or pixelated).
- Some metadata: That will include all the details and credits of your tracks (e.g. the songwriter, the lyricst, the musicians, etc.).
Step-by-Step Guide to Creating a Release:
- Create the Release
Start by logging into your account and go to Products > Music Distribution to open a new music distribution order form. Help texts in each section will guide you in providing the necessary information, you can open them by clicking on the ? icons.
- Delivery
In this section you will have to fill in the following fields:
- Genre: Select the genre of your release.
- Shops: Select all the shops where you want to distribute your music.
- Enable YouTube Content ID: Decide if you want to activate YouTube’s Content ID
- Spotify pitching & Editorial playlist pitching: Choose between pitching your track with Spotify for Artists or our own editorial playlist pitching service. You can only apply for one at a time!
- Digital release date: Set the release date. The release date might change if the invoice isn’t paid immediately!
- Countries: By default, your release will be delivered worldwide. If you’re subscribed to one of our AMPLIFY plans, you can also make your own selection if you want.
- Release
In this section you will have to fill in the following fields:
- Release name: Enter the name of the single, EP or album. Please make sure to follow the adequate formatting rules !
- ℗ Recording copyright owner: Enter the name of the copyright holder for the audio recordings.
- Artist details: Provide the names and roles of the artists in this release. If these artists already have existing profiles on Spotify or Apple Music, make sure to link them so the release doesn't end up on the wrong profile!
- Label: Provide the name of the label.
- Additional release details: Include any other relevant information such as version details (e.g. if it’s a Radio Edit, a Remastered Version, etc.), previous barcode if the release had already been distributed, catalogue number and original release date.
- Revenue Splits: If you have a AMPLIFY+ or AMPLIFY Pro subscription, you can split your revenue with other people and set the percentages directly in this field.
- Release artwork: Upload your release’s artwork.
- © Artwork copyright owner: Enter the name of the copyright holder for the artwork.
- Tracks
In this section you will have to fill in the following fields:
- Audio Files: Upload your audio files (WAV files only! Frequency: 44.1 - 96.0kHz. Bitrate: 16 - 24 bit.)
- Metadata: Fill in all the information of your tracks.
- Artist details: Provide the names and roles of the artists on a specific track. If these artists already have existing profiles on Spotify or Apple Music, make sure to link them so the release doesn't end up on the wrong profile! If the same artist name is credited on more than half of the release’s entire tracklist, it needs to be credited in the Release section and on the artwork as well, with the corresponding role.
- CID: If you’ve enabled YouTube’s Content ID in the Delivery section, now you can select the tracks you want to monetize by toggling the CID switch. You must also confirm that the tracks you’ve selected comply with YouTube’s eligibility guidelines.
- Extra Features
- Email Support: If you’re using our Starter plan but you would like to get access to support via e-mail, you can purchase this service for a year.
- Release Page: Get a preview of what your Release Page will look like.
- Finalizing Your Release
- Order: Click Order to finalize your order.
- Payment: Choose your preferred payment method, apply any available vouchers, and complete the payment to submit your release to our team!
